AESMA DAEVA
|
| The bands 3rd album, entitled "The New Athens
Ethos," is available now on Pneva/Root Of All Evil Records. A constitution
to what Aesma Daeva is and what its followers are. This new opus
will prove once again how unconventional and truly brilliant this band,
and John Prassas (the mastermind behind it all) really are. Mixing old
with the new, along with a perfect blend of many styles of music makes
for a band that was toasted by TERRORIZER magazine as "One of the Highlights
of Metalfest" and METAL MANIACS asked" Where has this band been all my
life?" Rumor has it they will be working with producer extraodinaire Neil
Kernon on their next release. |

COLD COLOURS
|
| COLD COLOURS are currently
in the mixing process for their new full length CD "The Burden of Hope.
10 songs are recorded for the new disc and sees COLD COLOURS finding a
more cohesive sound then their 1999 debut. The CD is planned to be released
in January of 2005.
In the meantime, the track "All this Time" will
be featured on Pulse Newspapers' "Best of Smoke-Free Saturday Nights" (Note:
every member of COLD COLOURS smokes) compilation which will be out in November.
The track is from the new CD, however with an exclusive mix not available
anywhere else. |

IMPALER
|
| Impaler has unleashed a 20th anniversary DVD
in entitled "20 Years Undead." This superb DVD includes footage from their
20th Anniversary on Friday the 13th at the famed Turf Club in St. Paul.
That show featured many of the original members from the classic line-up.
Also on the DVD will be many past classic shows, interview segments, behind
the scenes footage and every music video they ever cracked open a crypt
to create will be featured on this mighty effort. |

KWANG!
|
| The debut CD from R.O.E's newest
signing KWANG is due out very soon. What is KWANG you're probably asking
yourself, well front man Joh Knapper says "Butt rock? Fine. Call it whatever
the fuck you want. But I can guarantee we have way more fun than a lot
of those phony fucks out there. Rock and Roll."
These immature 20-somethings are stuck in their
youth by their influences: KISS, Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue, and even newer
bands like Jet and The Darkness.
The mighty midwest has always been known to clamor
for the 4/4 flavor of good old-fashioned rock n' roll, and all Kwang wants
to do is deliver the goods. Expect nothing but delicious hooks, searing
guitar riffs, and a backbeat sure to shake your foundations. |

SALUBRIOUS INVERTEBRAE
|
| SALUBRIOUS INVERTEBRAE's Self-Titled debut album
is out now! SALUBRIOUS INVERTEBRAE was started from an assembly of
old analog synthesizers, effects pedals and beat-up robot parts. Almost
all the instruments and effects were acquired non-working by Ralph Karsten
and have been repaired or otherwise doctored to meet the requirements of
a proper analog freak-out. Instrument used includes the ARP 2600, 2-EML-101s,
EML-200, Prophet V, Mellotron, EML 416 Sequencer, ARP sequencer and Korg
Mono/Poly. Effects are mostly Mutron Bi-Phases and various reverb devices.
Ralph Karsten has considerable background in electronics and music with
2 previous recordings featuring yet another device played... a Native American
flute and is the only acoustic instrument among the machines. Tangerine
Dream, Brian Eno and Klaus Schultz figure as major musical influences.
Unlike much of the ambient material of the 90s and the 21st Century, there
are no MIDI controls so as to avoid any possibility of the Giant Karaoke
Machine on stage. In other words, Ralph plays all the instruments. Many
of the sounds used can only be made by the instruments used and digital
synths fall well short of the mark. ROE alumni from AESMA DAEVA and GOD-AWFUL
are lending their skills as guest guitars on a few tracks to make the pot
boil to a higher degree and make a new mark to another region of crossing
over in extreme musical styles. |
